Plumber in East Falmouth (BusinessRate, Aug 2026)

Bathroom Remodeling in Falmouth, MA That Starts With the Plumbing

Most of what makes a bathroom remodel work is behind the walls. Where the drains run, how the shower valve is set, and whether old pipes can handle new fixtures decide how the room holds up long after the tile looks good.

That’s why it helps to have plumbers running the job. Our licensed Falmouth plumbers do the rough-in and set the fixtures ourselves, so nothing gets handed off and nothing gets missed behind the walls.

How a Bathroom Remodel Comes Together

Every bathroom is different, but most of our remodels follow the same order.

1

Walk-through and plan

We look at the room, the plumbing under it and what you want to change. Keeping fixtures in place is simpler. Moving a toilet or shower is doable but depends on what’s in the floor and walls.

2

Demo and assessment

With the old finishes out, we can see the real condition of the pipes. Older homes often hide corroded galvanized lines or cast iron drains worth replacing while the walls are open.

3

Rough-in and pressure test

We run new supply and drain lines, set the shower valve at the right depth, and add blocking for grab bars or a heavy vanity. Everything gets tested for leaks before the walls close.

4

Shower build and tile

The pan and waterproofing go in before tile, with benches and niches framed in. This step keeps water out of the subfloor for years.

5

Fixtures and final checks

Vanity, sink, toilet, faucets and shower trim go in and get tested for leaks, and we show you where the shutoffs are.

★★★★★Toilet and faucet repair

I reached out to Blue Pacific as a new homeowner and knew whatever was happening with my plumbing I could not fix. They came right away and fixed my kitchen sink leak. Then we realized that the bathroom toilet needed some replacing and within 2 days Nick ordered a new one and came to replace it. The service was amazing. Literally issues were resolved within days. The communication between myself and Nick was clear, accessible and efficient. I would recommend this company to my family members. Thank you for helping me fix these issues I have been worrying about for months.

What We Build and Install

The pieces we handle most often in Falmouth remodels:

Tiled showers

Walk-in showers with built-in benches and recessed niches, in marble or subway tile and ready for a glass enclosure. We set the valve, drain and waterproofing so they hold up to daily use.

Vanities and sinks

Double vanities with stone tops, pedestal sinks on hex tile floors, and widespread faucets. Going from one sink to two means new drain and supply lines, which we plan in from the start.

Toilets

New toilets set on a solid flange, including comfort height models. If the flange or the floor around it is rotted, we fix that first so the toilet doesn’t rock or leak.

Shower valves and trim

Pressure balancing or thermostatic valves that keep the temperature steady when someone flushes. Brass, chrome or black trim goes on after the tile.

Kitchen sinks and dishwashers

New sinks, faucets, disposals and dishwasher connections, including relocating the sink to an island. We also add shutoff valves you can reach.

Decisions to Make Before Demo Day

Settle these early and the job keeps moving.

Fixtures and tile can take time to arrive, so ordering early helps. For a rental or summer place, we can schedule the work around when the house is empty.

  • Shower only, tub only, or a tub with a shower
  • Whether the toilet, vanity or shower is moving
  • One sink or two
  • Faucet and shower trim finish
  • Tile for the floor and shower walls
  • Whether the bathroom stays usable during the work

Remodeling an Older Cape or Summer House

Older Falmouth homes often have surprises under the floor: galvanized supply lines, cast iron drains with years of buildup, and old patches that were never quite right. Replacing them while the bathroom is open costs far less than going back in later. Our article on plumbing leak repair is worth a read if you’ve already seen stains or soft spots.

Summer rentals need extra thought. Guest turnover is hard on fixtures, so durable valves, a solid toilet flange and a good shower pan matter more than usual. An outdoor shower added at the same time keeps beach sand out of the new bathroom.

Kitchen Remodels: Same Spot or a New Layout?

In a kitchen remodel, where the sink goes drives most of the plumbing work.

Keeping the sink in place

  • Reuses the existing drain and vent
  • New sink, faucet and dishwasher hook right up
  • Fewer changes to floors and cabinets

Moving the sink or adding an island

  • New drain, vent and supply lines
  • May mean opening the floor or a wall
  • More freedom for the layout you want

Either way, we handle the sink, faucet, disposal and dishwasher plumbing. A gas range or cooktop needs new piping, which our gas line installation in Falmouth covers, and a remodel is a good time to add a tankless unit through our water heater installation service.

Bathroom and kitchen remodels: common questions

Still not sure? Call (508) 274-9939 and talk it through with someone who does this every day.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A straightforward bathroom usually takes two to four weeks once work starts, depending on the tile, any custom glass and how much plumbing moves. Special-order vanities and shower doors can add time, so we order them early. You’ll get a realistic schedule before we start.

Can you move a toilet or shower to a different spot?

Usually, yes. Toilets need a large drain and a vent, so moving one depends on the floor framing and where the existing drain runs. Showers are easier to move because their drains are smaller. We check under the floor during the walk-through.

Can I keep using my bathroom during the remodel?

Not while the plumbing is torn out. Once demo starts, that room’s toilet, sink and shower are out of service until the new fixtures go in. If it’s the only bathroom in the house, tell us early, and we can sequence the work so the toilet stays in service as long as possible.

Should I replace old pipes during a bathroom remodel?

If they’re galvanized steel, old cast iron or showing corrosion, yes. With walls and floors open, replacing them is far simpler than coming back later. Galvanized lines rust from the inside and slowly choke water pressure. We’ll show you what we find after demo.

What drives the cost of a bathroom remodel?

Mostly how much is changing. Moving the toilet or shower, replacing old pipes, building a tiled shower with a bench and niche, and the materials you pick all add up. Fixing rotted subfloor or damage found after demo can also change the scope. We give a free quote after seeing the room.
