Clogged Drain Cleaning in Falmouth and Across Cape Cod

A slow sink is annoying. Water rising in the shower the night before guests arrive is a different problem. Blue Pacific Cape Cod clears blocked drains and sewer lines across Falmouth and the surrounding towns. We look first, tell you what is actually wrong, quote it, then clear it. Most jobs get done the same day or the next morning.

Start Here: What Your Drain Is Actually Telling You

Before you call anyone, the symptom tells you roughly how big the job is.

One fixture is slow. Kitchen sink, one shower, one tub. The blockage is almost always within a few feet of the drain, usually hair or grease sitting in the trap or the branch line. This is a straightforward snaking job.

The same drain keeps clogging. You cleared it, it worked for three weeks, now it is back. The clog is not the problem. A layer of buildup on the pipe wall is, and every clearing job that only punches a hole through it buys you a few weeks.

Two or more fixtures are backing up together. A toilet gurgles when you run the washing machine. Water comes up in a basement floor drain. This is not a drain job. The blockage is in the main line that everything in the house shares.

There is a smell and no clog. Often a dry trap in a house that sits empty, which is common with seasonal properties here. Sometimes a venting problem. Neither is fixed by pouring anything down the drain.

A store bought bottle rarely reaches any of these. It eats through the soft top of a blockage, the water moves for a day, and the rest stays in the pipe.

How We Clear It: Snaking or Hydro Jetting

Two clogs can look identical from the sink and need completely different equipment.

Drain snaking sends a flexible cable down the line to break through a blockage and pull it back out. Right choice for hair, soap buildup and a single slow fixture. Faster, cheaper, and enough for most kitchen and bathroom calls.

Hydro jetting uses high pressure water to scour the full inside wall of the pipe. Right choice for grease, tree roots, and anything that keeps returning. It removes the layer the next blockage would have formed on, which is why it holds.

The honest version: snaking costs less and solves most single fixture clogs. Jetting costs more and is worth it when the same drain has failed twice, when the line runs under a lawn with mature trees, or when a commercial kitchen is involved.

We tell you which one your line needs after we look at it, not before. If snaking will do the job, we are not going to sell you jetting. If you want the full comparison first, we wrote one here: hydro jetting compared with drain snaking.

When It Is the Sewer Line and Not the Drain

Some calls that start as a slow drain turn out to be the sewer line. Water backing up into a basement floor drain, several fixtures failing at once, or a patch of lawn over the line that stays soft in dry weather.

We put a camera down before deciding anything. It shows whether you are dealing with a blockage, root intrusion, a collapsed section, or a stretch of pipe laid with the wrong fall. Those four need four different answers, and guessing at it is how people end up paying twice. Tree roots are the usual cause on older properties around the Upper Cape. Roots need jetting. A cable cuts a hole through them and they grow back through the same joint in a season.

Towns We Cover for Drain and Sewer Work

Falmouth is home base. The van also covers East Falmouth, Woods Hole, Bourne, Mashpee, Sandwich, Barnstable and the villages between them.

Cape Cod properties bring their own version of this work. Seasonal houses sit closed for months and the traps dry out. Rental turnovers put half a year of use through one kitchen drain in ten weeks. Older lines on the Upper Cape have roots working into the joints. We have cleared all three enough times to know what to look for before we open anything.

Restaurants, Rentals and Commercial Buildings

Commercial kitchens fail differently from houses. Grease is the reason, and grease does not respond to a cable. A working restaurant line needs jetting on a schedule, not an emergency call at nine on a Friday.

We work with property managers, landlords and business owners across Falmouth on both scheduled cleaning and emergency callouts. Tell us what the building runs and how many fixtures feed the line, and we will tell you what interval makes sense.

What Happens When We Arrive

We look before we touch anything. Where the blockage sits, what caused it, whether the camera needs to go down. Guessing at this stage is what makes a job come back.

You get the price. Before any work starts, not after.

We clear it and prove it. Blockage out, water run through, flow confirmed while you are standing there. Then we tell you what caused it and whether it is likely to return.

Most calls are done in one visit.

After We Leave: Keeping the Line Clear

Three things cause almost every repeat clog we see. Grease poured down a kitchen sink, hair with no strainer catching it, and a forty year old line that has never been cleaned.

A normal household is fine with a clean every year or two. A rental, a house with big trees near the line, or a kitchen that cooks every night needs it more often. We will tell you which one you are, and we will tell you if the answer is that you do not need us again for a while.

I reached out to Blue Pacific as a new homeowner and knew whatever was happening with my plumbing I could not fix. They came right away and fixed my kitchen sink leak. Then we realized that the bathroom toilet needed some replacing and within 2 days Nick ordered a new one and came to replace it. The service was amazing. Literally issues were resolved within days. The communication between myself and Nick was clear, accessible and efficient. I would recommend this company to my family members. Drain Cleaning Questions We Get in Falmouth

Slow drainage, repeat clogs, a smell that will not clear, gurgling from a drain or toilet when water runs elsewhere, and water backing up. If two or more fixtures clog at the same time, the main sewer line is the likely cause and that is not a plunger job.
Snaking breaks through a blockage in one spot. Jetting cleans the entire pipe wall. Snaking is faster and cheaper for a single clogged fixture. Jetting is what stops grease and roots from bringing the same clog back.
Usually, once you know why it forms. A drain that keeps failing normally means buildup on the pipe wall or something structural like a root intrusion or a badly laid section. A camera tells us which. Repeated snaking will not solve either one.
Yes. Call (508) 274-9939. We will tell you honestly whether it needs someone tonight or whether it can safely wait until morning.
We would rather you did not. They sit in the pipe, they are hard on older lines, and if they fail the plumber is now working in a drain full of caustic liquid. Boiling water on a grease clog is a reasonable thing to try.
Yes, along with Barnstable, East Falmouth, Woods Hole and the surrounding villages.
A single fixture is usually under an hour. A main line with a camera inspection runs longer, often two to three hours depending on what the camera finds.
